The Period Badge System

Every member card in ApoClock displays a period badge — a colour-coded indicator of where that member is in their day, based on their local time right now.

These update in real time — every minute, every card refreshes. There's no stale data, no cached status from yesterday. If it's 19:30 in Manila, that member's badge shows Prime. If it's 03:15 in Toronto, it shows Deep Night.

Why Period Beats Just Showing a Clock

Raw clock times require mental arithmetic. Seeing "03:15" on a member card means nothing until you decide whether that's a reasonable hour or not — and that decision is different for every person depending on their habits.

Period badges remove that mental step. The badge already encodes the judgment. You see Deep Night and you know: this person is probably asleep. You see Prime and you know: this person is in their best gaming window. No arithmetic, no context switching.

Live Discord Presence

When you connect ApoClock to your Discord server via the 1-click wizard, Guild Sync pulls live presence data directly from Discord:

Tip: When you need to rally fast, scan for Prime + Online first. Those members are both in their peak gaming window and actively watching Discord — the highest-probability responders on your entire roster.

Member Avatar Sync

Guild Sync also pulls Discord avatars for each member. Instead of a generic placeholder, every card shows the member's actual Discord profile picture. For large alliances where you know people by their avatar more than their name, this is a surprisingly useful quality-of-life improvement.

Real-Time Scanning for Unplanned Events

The period badge system is most valuable during unplanned situations — a surprise boss spawn, a rival attack, an opportunity that needs fast response. Instead of posting "anyone online?" and waiting, you open ApoClock, scan for Prime + Online members, and know in five seconds who you can call on. At a glance, the roster reads like this:

Working Hours Configuration

Your "working hours" setting in ApoClock defines what counts as "active" for Goal Seek scoring and the availability grid. This is separate from the period badges, which are fixed to the 6-hour windows above. Working hours let you customise the Goal Seek algorithm to your alliance's specific event window — for example, if your alliance only runs events from 19:00 to 23:00, set that as your working window.

The Bigger Picture

Period badges and presence together give you something no spreadsheet or pinned Discord message can: a live, continuously updated picture of your alliance's availability. The member dashboard becomes a real-time command centre — not a static record.
